American Clay Basic Application Workshop:
Saturday 9:30AM-4:30PM
Class fee: $225.00

This workshop is geared toward those with no previous American Clay plaster experience and for
those who need a refresher course on foundation of American Clay application.

We will cover wall preparation, use of sanded primer, the traditional mixing system, trowel
control, traditional application of Loma, finishing techniques, and clean up.

American Clay Professional/Artistic Workshop:
Sunday
9:30AM-4:30PM
Class fee: $275.00

This workshop is being held for people with a good understanding of American Clay's traditional
application system. You will learn the more advanced systems of American Clay that will provide you
with the techniques that will help cut material and labor cost as well as meeting complex artistic
visions.

We will cover the classic and professional Dos Manos application systems, and learn how to choose
which system is best for your skills and your project. We will also look at the artistic aspect of
American Clay, and focusing on arming you with the skills necessary to meet your artistic vision.
These skills will include: creating basic custom pigment, mixing American Clay's Loma, Porcelina
and Marittimo to create different hybrid mixes to meet certain needs, making custom burlap
bull-noses, hand painting on American Clay, stenciling, finishing techniques for Porcelina,
Marittimo and the hybrid mixes.
 
General Info:
We will provide all of the necessary tools and materials for the class, but if you have tools you would like to try please bring them.

Classes are taught by American Clay Artisan and owner of Serenity Finishes Miles Williams

Serenity Finishes will be selling all of the tools and materials needed for an American Clay
project at a 10% discount to students the day of the workshop. If you know you will be needing a
large amount of product or equipment and you want to take advantage of the 10% discount, please
call at least one week before the workshop so your materials will be ready for you.

Please bring work clothes, something warm, and money for lunch.
